April 30,2005
Slow fishing today. Fished 2 trips and only caught 45 fish.

April 29,2005
Fished a group of 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM. Limited out both trips.

Fished a group of 2 in the afternoon and the fish really turned on good for us, we caught a limit and had to release about 8 over 20" fish looks like we have a lot of fish over 20" in the lake this year.

Same group again this morning,22 fish early then nothing and we quit at 11:00 AM. Fished a group of 2 in the afternoon and we got on some fish early and caught about 7 and it was over till late in the day we found some fish up shallow and limited out fast. Biggest fish was 9 LBS.

Fished a AM and a PM trip today. Limited out in the AM on box and over 20" fish. Almost limited out in the PM but we could not catch enough box fish, to many over 20" fish, ended up with 42 in the box.

Major cold front and 25 MPH winds made it tough today. We caught our big fish early up to 14 LBS then finished up with some nice box fish and a few dinks.

Fishing was very good this morning. Limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Fishing should really get good this week. I think the topwater fishing will start any day now since the shad are starting to move in and spawn in the mornings.
I have this Tuesday- Thursday open then there are a few days open in May but we are going to really get going starting this Friday it looks like we will be going at least one trip every day.

Fished a group of 6 in the AM and 3 in the PM. Fishing was still tough but we put 60 fish in the box by noon. Afternoon was slow 20 fish in the box.

Fished a group of 8 on the lake and had a tough day.

We fished a group of 19 on the river today. I don't like taking big groups on the river but another guide asked me to help them out so I did. Out of 4 boats there were about 12 fish caught. We have been getting limits of fish but not today. The first boat that drifted down caught a 16 LB fish.

Fished a group of 2 on the lake today. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Biggest fish was 9 LBS. Fishing the river tomorrow.

Fished a group of 3 on the river this morning, limited out on striper and caught a few catfish. Back on the lake tomorrow.

Went out this afternoon to get bait for a river trip in the morning and did a little fishing. The fishing was real good. May is booking up fast, only a few mornings left and a few afternoons.

Pretty good on the lake this morning. Caught about 40 fish, kept 35 and threw back a few over 20" fish since we limited out on big fish.

Went out and did some scouting on the lake this morning and the fishing was really good with lots of action. Lost 2 big fish and landed one about 10 LBS. Looks like it is time to start striper fishing in the lake. The water temp is warming up and it should be real good next week, I have some days open.

Fished a group of 2 on the river in the AM and a group of 2 on the lake in the PM. Limited out on both trips but we caught some better fish in the lake.

Back on the river with a group of four, the fishing was a little slower today but we still managed to catch a limit of striper.

Fished a group of 3 on the river today below the dam. Caught a lot of striper and a few catfish.

Fished up the river today for striper and catfish and it was a little slow but we caught a few nice striper and catfish.

We fished a group of 9 on the river today with 2 airboats and both boats caught limits of striper.

Fished a group of 2 on the river today and the striper fishing was real good kept a limit and released a lot more ,we also caught a 26 LB catfish.

I am back from vacation and ready for this fishing to get going. I went to the river this afternoon and the striper fishing was very good , no big fish but lots of 17-20 inch fish on light tackle. We are going to fish the river in the morning. Went to Port O'Conner last week and the fishing was ok but it was still a little early just like it is here. We caught some sea trout and some reds and a big jack fish took one of my top water lures, I saw the baitfish jumping out of the water so I tossed my lure in there and boom, I have caught a lot of big jacks and if I had known I would not have tossed my lure at them. We also gigged a few flounder at night. I only took light tackle so we tried to avoid the big drum but we did catch a couple in one spot before we moved because these big drum take a while to land on light tackle. Fished the river today and it was slow only caught 5 fish. I am going on vacation next week so maybe the fishing will be better when I get back.

Fished a group of 9 in the afternoon on the lake and it was slow. One boat caught 4 fish and the guys got cold and quit early , my boat stayed out till dark and only managed about 12 fish, 5 good ones and the rest dinks.

Fished a group of 5 on the lake today and it was pretty good early and it was pretty well over by 10:00 AM for us but we fished till 12 and caught one more. Ended up with 14 striper to 11 LBS and 2 largemouth bass.

Went out to do some scouting today and it started of ugly when the water pump impeller went south on my boat, but it was not the first time so I always carry a spare and the good thing about a inboard is you can change it on the water, I even caught 3 fish when I was changing out the pump. Caught some good fish late, I have a trip in the morning so maybe they will bite tomorrow.

Fished a group of 4 on the river today in the air boat and it looks like the fishing is getting better, we ended up with about 10 Striper to 9 LBS and 8 Catfish with a 19 LB blue and a 22 LB flathead. We also snagged a few gar.

Fished up the river again today. Ended up with a decent box of fish (catfish and a few big sand bass) but nothing big.

Fished a group of 3 up the river today, we had a lot of bites but could not get them to the boat, ended up with 6 nice catfish to 21 LBS and 2 striper to 8 LBS. Looks like the striper are moving up the river because the 2 we caught were up about 30 miles from the lake. We should start to see more Striper in the river in the next few days, I am going to take some live bait up the river tomorrow.

I went out this afternoon to check on one of my big fish holes that I usually fish in March and it looks like the bigger fish are starting to show up, I wish I would have found some bigger bait today because the bait I was using was to small. Caught a few nice ones including a 7,9,and 11 LB Striper.

Fishing was not as good today but we did get a pretty good box of nice size striper and catfish, we also caught a 23 LB catfish that we released.

Went fishing by myself this afternoon and caught a lot of good size fish. Found some catfish and caught about 6 of them then left them to look for striper, biggest striper was 14 LBS and the biggest cat was 21 LBS. Here is a pic of the cat but I did not take a pic of the big striper because I did not want to keep it out of the water for that long.

Fished a group of 2 today in the afternoon and only caught a few fish, the fish I have been catching this week did not school up today.

Went out again today for about an hour and killed them. Caught them on almost every cast up to 12 LBS. It is a gamble to book a trip this time of year but the payoff can be worth it.

The weather was warm again today so I decided to go fishing this afternoon. I put the boat in at 4:45 PM and went looking for some birds working, found them pretty quick with no boats around me at all. It started with just a few birds then the fish started surfacing all around my boat and it was a fish every cast for about 1 hour then I left them biting. All fish were 20-30 inch fish. If anyone wants to do a striper trip and run some jug lines call now because I am going to pull in the jug lines this week if nobody want to go.

Striper fishing was a little slow for us today but we did pretty good on the jug lines. Our 3 biggest cats were 25,30 and 41 LBS.

Looks like striper fishing will be good this spring. We limited out on striper today and caught 7 catfish on the jugs.

Fished a group of 4 on the lake today. We fished for striper and catfish with rod and reel and we also ran 28 jugs. We ended up with a nice box of fish and released a 12 LB Striper that we caught on rod and reel and a 34 and 40 LB catfish that we caught on jug lines. Caught some nice box size cats on rod and reel. If you want to fish for striper and catfish right now is the time.

I did a little scouting today and ended up catching a few striper and a 22LB catfish, I have customers the next 2 days so maybe we will get some fish. I also put out 28 jugs so we should catch some catfish, I will be running jugs on my striper trips as a bonus right now since the striper fishing can be really unpredictable this time of year. I found some big cats that I think we can catch on rod and reel in the lake so we will se what happens tomorrow.

Fishing has finally slowed down. Looks like the fish are about to change into a late winter early spring pattern and that means the fishing will not be very consistent , there will be good days and bad till the end of April then it should get real good every day. We should catch a few big fish in March and early April. My trips over the weekend were slow and only produced about 12-15 fish. Weekends are starting to get booked up in May.

No fishing today. I took a group of 6 down river to see Bald Eagles. We only saw 3 and I bet it is because there is to much water in the river, I guess I am not the only one that can not catch any fish in the river right now. The 3 eagles that we saw were at a big nest that has been on the river for a few years now.

Striper fishing was good again today. We did not catch any big fish like Monday but we did catch about 50 fish up to 7 LBS.
No more reports till I can get some trips booked, we cant catch them if we don't go.

More Striper fishing today and it was real good, we caught 50-60 fish today with lots of over 20" fish, four 10-14 LB , and 28 fish in the box, all big fish were released. We are still catching all our fish on lures.

Fished the lake for striper again today from 9:30 AM till it started raining at about 2:30. We ended up catching about 40 fish and most were 5-8 LB fish with a few box fish mixed in and one 11 LB fish that we released for someone to catch when it gets bigger, I think catch and release is very important if we want to have big fish to catch in the future, Texoma would have a lot more big fish if everyone would catch and release the big ones.

Fished a group of 3 on the lake today. The fish were not schooled up as good as yesterday but that is how it usually is on a Saturday with all the boat traffic. These guys could fish good so we ended up catching about 50 fish with several over 10 LBS, most were over 20" fish but we managed to get about 20 fish in the box.

 I went striper fishing on the lake for about 2 hours this afternoon and the action was non-stop with fish up to 15 LBS. The lure fishing on the lake is really good.

Catfishing is still slow. With the rain and only one generator working it looks like we may not get the right conditions below the dam for a while now. If it does not rain this weekend the catfishing should be good out west of the lake. I fished the last 2 days and only caught 3 cats and the biggest was only 35 LBS.

Have not been fishing, my last 4 trips cancelled, no paycheck this week. I can't believe that with the nice weather we have had nobody wants to striper fish. I have had lots of calls for catfishing on the river but seems like nobody wants to book till I go out and catch some big ones. I have been busy building a t-top for the red boat . The flood gates are shut in the river so we can do some catfishing now.

Fished a group of 2 today. Figured out a new program for today and we caught about 30 fish to 8 LBS.

Tough day for me, the fish we caught yesterday did not bite today so I will have to adjust my program a little tomorrow.

Striper fishing on the lake was about as good as it gets today. We fished from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and caught over 100 fish, we hit some big fish right off the bat with a 13 and 16 LB fish on at the same time , caught another 15 LB fish and tons of 5-12 LB fish , ended up with 24 in the box because we could only catch 18 fish that were under 20".

I did not fish today but from what I hear we really missed out on some big fish today. I will be fishing the next 3 days but I have next week open and the weather will be warm the first part of the week so take a day off and book a trip.

Fished a group of 3 on the lake today for Striper. Started out at about 10:30 AM and fished till about 3:30 PM and the action was non-stop. Kept 22 fish and released a ton of fish in the 5-8 LB range with a few 10 LB fish also, I lost count of the fish but it was probably close to a 100 fish day. The temp. was 37 when we started and 32 when we finished and when you combine that with high winds and humidity it made it a little tough to stay warm but no pain no gain , cold nasty days are the best fishing in the winter time.

Fished a group of 2 in the afternoon today and it was very good, lots of over 20" fish to 10 LBS. Ended up with 17 in the box and released about 20 or more over 20" fish.

Striper fished on the lake today, had a group of 2 in the AM and another group of 2 in the PM. The morning was a little slow but we limited out on over 20" fish and ended up with 13 fish in the box. The afternoon was much better and we caught a lot of big fish up to 10 LBS.
