April 30,2006
Fished a group of 6 this morning and the fishing was good but not as many over 20" fish today. Boxed a 60 fish limit and had about 9 fish over 20". I did not have a afternoon trip but Two of my partners were out and they caught a lot of big fish up to 12 LBS. I have days open this week.

Fished a group of 14 this morning with 2 boats. We started of catching over 20" fish about as fast as you could get a bait down then we finally had to pull of those fish and go find some box fish, both boats limited out on box and over 20" fish. Fished a group of 4 in the afternoon and it was not as good as the morning but we still limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 2 today and the fishing was good but we had to weed through a lot of small fish. Boxed a limit of box and over 20" fish and released a few more over 20".

Fished a single this morning and the wind was northwest at about 25. We tried some topwater but ended up having to catch them on bait. Lots of box and over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 2 in the afternoon. Limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Fishing was as good as it gets this morning ,for the first hour we caught them as fast as you could go. Kept a 70 fish limit with lots of good box fish and almost a limit of over 20" fish. Limits of fish will be the norm from now till July.

Fished the same group of 7 again this morning. Limited out with 70 fish and had a little better box of fish today with a few over 20" fish. Fished a group of 3 in the afternoon and we did not do much fishing because it was all catching. We anchored up and pounded them for about a hour till we used up all our bait. We kept a limit of box and over 20" fish and released a bunch of over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 7 today. We started out topwater fishing and did good for about 1 hour then we had to move to deeper water. We kept to many small fish early then we got into some better fish about 10 o'clock. Caught about 100 fish and quit at 10:30 with 70 in the box.

For everyone that wants to book a trip for topwater action speak now or forever hold your peace. I went out by myself this morning and the topwater action was very good.

Fished a group of 6 on the lake today. Limited out with 60 striper in the box. We also caught 10 sandbass and 4 catfish.

We fished a group of 2 and a group of 5 this morning. The fishing was as fast as you could go early and the big boat limited out early with 50 fish in the box. The group of 2 did not get a wake up call at the hotel this morning and missed the best action but still ended up with almost a limit before the wind got up. Here is a pic of the big boat that was red till I had it sandblasted and the 23 ft Falcon I bought this winter.

Fished a group of 3 on the lake today. The fishing was good and we ended up with a nice box of fish. Limited out on box fish with a few over 20". The fishing is getting better every day.

We started out slow on Friday afternoon but we got on some fish about 5:30 and boxed a few over 20" fish. The wind was about 40 MPH and they decided to call it quits at about 6. I took the weekend off and it looks like that will be my last weekend off for a while. I have a afternoon trip today. I wanted to go this morning but they can only fish in the afternoon so we will see what happens. I still have this weekend open for some reason, I guess everyone is going to the stock car races. The fishing is about to bust wide open and prime days are getting booked so call and reserve a day. I will have a report later on the afternoon fishing.

Fished a group of 7 this morning. We should have split up into 2 boats and fished the shallow water today because we could not get the deep water fish to bite for us and it is tough to fish in the shallow water with 7 in the boat. Ended up with 30 fish today.

The warm weather is making the fishing get better and better, I have this Saturday morning open and that is the last Saturday morning I have open for a long time.
I will be back out there Thursday and should have a good report.

Another guide out of the Lighthouse called me this morning and said they caught a 40 fish limit of 15-22 inch striper. It should get a lot better in the next week or so.

We fished a group of 16 this morning with 4 boats. 2 Boats limited out with 40 fish , one boat had some good size fish and one boat had small fish, my boat had 35 striper up to 7 LBS and the other boat only had about 15 fish.

We fished a group of 18 on the lake today with 4 boats. All 4 boats caught a decent box of fish with limits on a couple of the boats. The biggest fish was a 40 LB blue cat that was released and will hopefully make somebody's day again.

Fished a group of 4 this morning and it was the toughest day of striper fishing I have had in a while. We just could not get anything going then the wind got really bad about noon so we called it quits with 10 Fish.

We started out slow but we finished up strong with a limit of box and over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 2 today from 1:30 PM to 5:30 and it was non stop action. Birds were working the whole time we were out and we caught fish on bait and lures. Lost count but we caught a lot of fish, most were over 20".

Fished a group of 5 today in the afternoon and the fishing was as good as it gets right off the bat but it only lasted about 20 minutes, caught about 18 fish then we could not get a bite for the next 2 hours so we moved into some shallow water and caught all our over 20" fish and ended the day with about 40 fish in the box.

Fished a morning trip and ended up with 15 fish before the rain moved in.

Fished a group of 2 in the AM and 4 in the PM. We had some fish going early and then 2 other guide boats drifted over our fish that were in 5 foot of water and busting the surface. You can't drift over fish in 5 foot deep water and expect them to stick around. We were anchored 50 yards off the bank and casting shad into the shallow water and they drifted right over our baits. Ended the morning early with 7 fish because one customer was sick. The afternoon fishing was really good. The weather took a turn for the worst but the fish were schooled up, the only problem was they were moving fast and most of them were over 20" fish, ended up with 24 in the box and had to release a few more over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 3 in the AM and 2 in the PM. Fishing was a lot tougher for us today but we still caught a few nice fish.

Fished a group of 3 in the AM and 4 in the PM. Limited out on over 20" fish on both trips but came up a few fish short on box fish in the afternoon. Two really good boxes of fish today.

Fished a group of 3 in the AM and 2 in the PM. Limited out on Box and over 20" fish. Biggest fish of the day was 15LBS ( catch and release)  and caught in the afternoon.

Fished a group of 3 on the lake today. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. The first hour the action was real fast then it was just steady till we quit at 11.

Fished a group of 4 on the lake today and the fishing was real good for March. We limited out on box and over 20" fish, we also released about 5 more over 20" fish. Biggest fish was 8 LBS.

Fished the river today for catfish. We started off good but after a couple of hours it just died. Ended up with about 10 fish and lost one big fish.

I fished this evening alone and I stayed really busy right before dark catching 5-8 LB fish. Lots of fishing coming up so stay tuned.

Fished the river today for catfish and we had a great morning then it slowed down a little in the afternoon. Caught over 150 LBS of catfish, biggest was 25 LBS.

Striper fishing on the lake today. We did ok and ended up with 38 fish in the box. Striper fishing should start improving as the water heats up.

Fished the the section of river that I scouted yesterday and we really had a good day, caught 30-40 cats, most were 4-15 LBS but we also had a 21 and a 50 LB.

I found a new place to get my boat in on the river and found some good holes with fish in them. I caught 2 cats, the biggest was almost 30 LBS then I took the hooks of and just tied the bait on the line , that may sound crazy but if I hook these fish they will learn to be more cautious, and that just makes it tougher to catch fish for my customers. I have Thursday Feb.16 open if anyone want a shot at some virgin waters.

Slow again today on the river but better than yesterday. We ended up catching about 8 cats, 3 were flatheads in the 10-15 LB range.

Toughest day ever on the river for me. We lost one big cat and had a few more bites but only caught one drum.

Fished the lake for striper today. The fishing was very sporadic today, we would get on some fish and catch a few then they would leave and we would have to find them again. Limited out on over 20 " fish and ended up with a decent box of fish.

Fished the river today and did ok. Caught a 45 lb blue cat and a 38lb flathead, we also snagged some gar and spoonbill and one grass carp.

Fished the river today. Fishing was a little slow but we caught 2 big cats that were 25 and 28 LBS, we also caught all the spoonbill we wanted.

Fished the river today. We started out trying to catch big catfish and did not get a bite. We decided to see if we could catch a big striper and before long we hooked a giant fish. We fought the fish for about 10 minutes and the fight was really over but then the hook came lose. The was exhausted and laying on its side about 30 yards from the boat and all we could do was watch it roll back upright and swim off. The fish looked to be 30+ LBS. Luckily we boated a 23 LB striper about a hour later.

Still slow today but we caught a few big fish. 53 LB blue cat, 30 LB flathead, 6  3-6- LB cats, and a few paddlefish.

Fished the lake this morning for striper and it was slow so we called it quits at 10:00.

Fished the river today for catfish and did ok, ended up with about 10 fish , 2 big ones 20 and 28 LBS.

Fished the lake for striper in the afternoon. We caught about 9 fish under the birds when we first got out then when that was over the fish never schooled up again.

Slow day on the river, caught a few small fish and one that went 45 LBS.

Fished on the river today and we killed the catfish. I lost count but we caught 30-40 fish today, mostly blues but a few channels and about 6 flatheads. Biggest fish was a 36 LB flathead, then a 21 and 20 LB blue, the rest were 2-13 LBS. We released all fish today. We actually got rained on for about 2 hours.

Fished the lake for catfish today and it was tough for us, ended up with 4 small catfish.

Started out slow on the river today then we hit them good for about a hour, ended up catching about 15 fish with the 2 biggest weighing in at 28 and 39 LBS, 4 were 3-5 LBS and the rest were 5-10 LBS.

Fished the lake today for big catfish, it was a slow day but we caught 2 big fish that were 20 and 48 LBS.

Fished the river today and the catfishing was slow. Biggest cat was 23 LBS but the biggest fish was a 100+ LB gator gar, we also snagged a few paddlefish.

We fished the lake today for catfish. Caught and released a 40,21,and 15 LB blue cat, we put about 12 more in the box that were 4-10 LBS.

The fishing is a little slow and I needed to get moved into the house I bought in Pottsboro so I took the week off. We will get back out on the river next Monday and fish all week.

Fishing was slow on the river today. Only 3 cats two small and one 42 LBS.

Fished a group of 4 on the river today. We ended up catching about 12 cats 3-10 LBS and on that went 57 LBS.
