I have been fishing every day and the wind and waves have been really bad. Despite the tough conditions we have only had one really bad day. I still have this weekend the 25th and 26th open and it looks like the wind and seas are finally going  to get right , we should finish up with some good fishing.

Erin passed to our south this morning and conditions should start to improve. I had a change in my schedule and I now have the weekend of the 25th and 26th open. The weather should be good for these days unless hurricane Dean gets us.

We made it offshore this morning and the weather was perfect but as the day went on the wind and storms from tropical storm Erin forced us back inshore. We caught a good box of snapper and a few big sharks. We will not get to fish in the morning.

We had a really good day offshore today. Snapper to 12 LBS,3 ling, and lots of 30" amberjack with 2 keepers over 32 inches.

Fishing is good in Port O'Connor. Lots of good snapper to 15 LBS and kings up to 40 LBS. The nearshore fishing for sharks has been almost non-stop action ,hooked about 40 sharks today.

Another tough day today. Fished a group of 3 and ended up with 19 fish.

Fished a group of 4 today and it was not near as good as yesterday. Ended up with 23 fish in the box.

Fished a group of 4 on the lake this morning and the fishing was really good. Limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 5 in the AM and 3 in the PM. The morning fishing was tough for us but we hit them good on the afternoon trip. Only 25 fish on the morning trip and we limited out on box and over 20" fish in the afternoon. I did this report on my new laptop so I should be able to post some saltwater reports in August.

The river fishing has gone down hill since they turned up the flood gates so I put my boat back in a slip at the Lighthouse Marina on the lake. I have a few spots open before I head to the coast on the 30th. The striper fishing has been good in the lake. I have Friday the 20th, Sunday the 22nd, Wednesday the 25th and Thursday the 26th open. If you need a striper fishing trip in August I can get you booked with another guide service. I will be back striper fishing in the fall. Thanks to everyone that fished with me this spring and early summer, we had a very good spring.

I am getting everything ready to go to the coast. Here is a pic of a few lures I rigged up today. They look small in the pic but the second lure from the bottom is a Manns stretch 40 and it is 14 inches long.

Had a group booked for this morning. I talked to them and gave them directions on Friday before I went to catch some bait that is very hard to get right now, after catching bait for almost 2 hours they called back and cancelled, said they wanted to come back when they could fish the lake, they should have decided that a lot sooner then 5 PM the day before the trip. O well I guess they can find themselves another guide. I have a list of really good customers and these guys will not be on that list.

Fished a group of 4 and a group of 3 on the river today. The first trip was ok but ended up with some small fish. The second trip had some better fish up to 8 LBS. Limited out on both trips but it was tough.

Fished a group of 3 , 4 , and split a group of 6 into 3 and 3 on the river  today and caught limits of fish. The limit in the river is different then the lake where you get 10 fish and only 2 over 20" with no minimum length per person. The river is 5 fish per person with no minimum or maximum limit on length.

Fished the river with a group of 4 the 25th in the afternoon and a group of 5 in the morning on the 26th. There is a lot of fish in the river now since the flood gates have been open for a while. We caught limits easy.

I had a 2 man trip this morning but since I have been sick the last 2 days decided it would be best for me to take a day of for some rest. I had another guide take my group and they limited out.

My morning trip cancelled on me and I fished a group of 3 in the afternoon. I caught a summer time cold and the last thing I needed was a hot afternoon with no wind at all but that is just what we got. We caught a limit of fish but it would have been much easier on all of us with just a little wind.

Fished a group of kids this morning and we had to make it happen early with the storms headed for us. We caught about 50 fish before we had to head in to beat the storms. Fished a group of 4 in the afternoon and the fishing was as good as it gets.

Fished a group of 9 in the AM and 3 in the PM. We caught limits of fish on both trips. Wednesday afternoon the 6th and Thursday morning the 14th are open, I also have some open spots after the 19th of June.

Finished up the month of May strong. Fished a group of 7 in the AM and 4 in the PM. I also had another group of 4 out in another boat this morning. Easy limits in the AM and easy limits in the PM but the morning bite has been a little better the last couple of days.

The storms kept us off the lake this morning but we finally got out about 11 AM for some catching. There is no fishing right now, it is all catching. Went out with a afternoon group about 2:45 PM for more catching.

Fishing is just incredible right now, the pattern and bite is as good as I have seen it in a few years. I have a few spots left open this month and June is booking up fast. Next week I have Monday morning the 14th, Tuesday afternoon, Friday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon open. Don't wait for it to get better because it does not get any better then it is right now.

Another great trip today. We fished a group of 9 out of 2 boats today and the action was non stop as fast as you could go. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. I have a few open spots coming up and we also have a boat open for this Saturday morning.

We fished a group of 21 this morning and it started out slow like yesterday so I decided to take a chance and head west. We found them big time, it was fish on as fast as you could get a bait down and the fish never left us.

We started out slow then we caught a few but nothing steady so we moved locations and that did the trick. Fastest action I have seen in a while, you got bit as fast as you could get a shad to the bottom.
