August 25,2004
I am back home now from the Gulf. My saltwater fishing started out real good the first week then the wind blew the next 2 weeks and made it tough just to stand up in the boat much less fish. We still caught fish but it is much nicer when the seas are calm. The offshore fishing for Snapper was off from what it was last year but the near shore water was full of big sharks and you could catch them till you just did not want to catch anymore. We caught lots of Black Tip, Spinner ,and a few big Bull Sharks. We caught one Tarpon but I did not get a pic of it, I will try to get a pic from my customers. The Tarpon jumped 5 times and took 50 minutes to get to the boat.

Bull Sharks are considered to be the most dangerous sharks in the world, mainly because there are so many of them and they will eat anything in the water.

Headed to the Gulf today so no reports till about August 24th. I will be fishing every day in the Gulf if the weather holds out and I don't break anything. should be a good year for saltwater fishing, the sharks are really thick around Galveston this year, there was two shark attacks on the beach last week. Probably stupid people swimming in schools of bait. If you need to book a trip call me because I have no email in Galveston. Steve 1-866-776-4843

Tough day for us today ended up with 27 Box Fish.

Found the Box fish today but the big fish that we have been catching have moved on us. Maybe we can find them again tomorrow but the lake will probably be covered up with boats.

Fishing was good today and the temperature was cool this morning. Limited out on box fish early then we found some big fish and limited out on over 20" fish. Caught and released one real nice fish that was 18 LBS. I had to cut down on the fishing this week for some boat repairs and I needed some time to get all my saltwater gear ready to head south on Sunday. I will be fishing 2 more trips the end of this week then I will be headed to the Gulf.

Much better fishing today. With a stiff north wind there were not to many boats out this morning and the fish were feeding good. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Biggest fish was 10 LBS and was released.

More boats on the lake this morning then I have seen all year. With light winds and boats running everywhere the fishing was a little slow. Ended up with 31 fish , probably could have fished a little longer and caught a few more but it was getting hot and we called it quits a little after 10.

Took the day off yesterday to do some boat trailer repairs and I have to take a few days off for some much needed boat maintenance next week before I go to the gulf. Fishing started of real good today but the fish left us and we had a tough time finding them again. Ended up with a limit of fish ,a few over 20".

Started out slow this morning but we finally got them going and limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 3 this morning. I started of in the same area as yesterday but for some reason the box fish were hard to catch, we caught a lot of over 20" fish up to 10.5 LBS. Finally just had to quit fishing because we could not get away from the big fish. Had one big fish try to eat a box fish that we had hooked right at the boat. We have been pretty lucky here lately on catching good ratios of box fish to over 20" fish but today was a big fish day. I like to catch a limit of big fish but I don't like to have to catch and release them this time of year because a lot of them will not survive the stress when you pull them up from cool water down 40ft and try to release them into 85 degree surface water. We tried to release the 10 pound fish today but it was belly up when I netted it, it was almost dead when we got it to the boat. Ended up with 28 fish in the box, we could have finished the limit but we would have had to kill a few big fish to do it and it just is not worth it.

Fishing was about as good as it gets this morning. Limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 2 in the AM and 4 in the PM. Limited out in the AM and PM but we caught more 20" plus fish in the AM. Did not get a pic in the AM.

Hard to believe it but the wind was blowing hard out of the north this morning, that does not happen much in July. The fish did not mind , limited out on box and over 20" fish. Released most of the over 20" fish.

Fishing is still very good on Texoma right now. We caught some nice fish today and lots of them. Limited out on 20" fish and box fish. I still have a few days open the last week of this month.

Same thing as yesterday. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Caught some really nice fish today.

Found bait a lot easier today. Started on a school of box fish early and caught them as fast as we could go, left them biting to look for over 20" fish, found them and caught them. Limited out .

My bait hole was empty this morning so we had to burn some of that cheap gas to go get it. The fishing was good ,limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Bait was really tough to get this morning and the bait that we caught was not the best. Finally just quit throwing the net and went with what we had at about 7:30 AM. Drove around for a hour and a half looking for fish and finally found a few at about 9:00. Limited out in about 2 hours with 50 fish in the box.

Fished a group of 2 this morning. The fishing was good but it was hard to keep the bite going with only 2 people fishing. Sometimes it is easier to catch 40 fish with 4 than it is to catch 20 fish with 2 people fishing.

Fishing was very good this morning. The fish were not as big as yesterday afternoon but we did catch a lot of fish over 20". Box fish were a little tough to catch but we finally filled the limit at about 10:00 AM.

Fished the afternoon today and it started off slow, no fish till about 8:00 PM then we found a huge school of fish. Caught lots of good size fish to 9 LBS and limited out fast.

Fishing was very good this morning and bait was easy to catch. Limited out on Striper to 10 LBS. Tomorrow morning is still open.

Bait was hard to find this morning but the fishing was easy. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. This Wednesday and Sunday  morning is open for booking. Time is running out on summer Striper fishing. I will be headed to the Gulf at the end of the month.

Fishing was slow early this morning but they turned on good about 10:00 and we limited out on box and over 20" fish. Fished 2 groups of 2 this morning.

Rain again today, no pic. Fished a group of 2 Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Caught fish on live bait ,slabs ,and downrigging.

Fishing was very good over the weekend. Caught limits easy. 50 fish Saturday morning, 60 Saturday afternoon, and 60 Sunday morning.

Fished a group of 3 in the AM and 2 in the PM. Limited out on over 20" and box fish. Released a 10 LB fish on the morning trip.

Fishing was a little tougher today but we still managed to get limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Another great day. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Lots of big fish up to 9 LBS.

No limit today, to many big fish. Limited out on over 20" fish but only caught about 6 box fish. caught one real nice fish that was 19 LBS. The big fish was released. If you catch a big fish don't kill it let it go for another day. There would be a lot more big fish in Texoma if everyone would release the big fish. If someone gets a big fish on you should have the camera and scales ready to go by the time the fish is boated. Every second that the fish is out of the water makes it less likely to survive. Time spent scrambling around for a camera could mean a dead trophy size fish.

For a change the fishing was very good all weekend. Fished a group of 6 this morning and limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Bait was easier to get this morning but the weather was crazy. I left the dock with a group of 6 at about 6:45 AM. We headed to the spot and anchored up and started catching fish. Caught about 38 fish and had to leave because storms were coming in. We waited out the storms and then we went back out at about 11:00 AM and finished up our limit quick, 60 fish in the box and all our over 20" fish. The afternoon was very good with some real nice fish including this 15 pound striper that was released. Limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Fished a group of four this morning. Limited out on over 20" fish but had a hard time finding many box fish. Ended up with 20 fish in the box. Bait was very hard to find this morning and the bait that we did find was not as good as what we have been getting.

Fished a group of 5 in the AM and ended up with 36 fish in the box. We could not find many box fish only over 20" fish. Fished a group of 4 in the PM and the fishing was real slow till about 7:15 then it was as fast as you could go, but same problem as the morning, to many big fish.

All the weekend traffic on the lake was gone this morning and the fishing was great. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Taking off tomorrow for some much needed rest. Taking off some days next week if the phone don't start ringing.

Fishing was tough this weekend due to all the boat traffic but we did manage some limits and some good boxes of fish. I was to wore out to get pics, all this fishing is about to wear me out.

Started at East Burns this morning with 3 customers then I got a call and there were 3 guys at the lighthouse that were waiting for another guide that never showed up so we picked them up and caught a few more baits then headed for the fish. Found a school of fish surfacing so we anchored up on them and caught 60 fish in about two and a half hours. Limited out on box and over 20" fish.

Started off in the rain again today. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. I have next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday open next week. The fishing is good but summertime will be here before you know it and it will slow down some.

Started off in the rain this morning but the fishing was real good. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Check out the pics of this big water snake that I tried to feed at the dock, he never did swallow the striper but he sure  tried. Click on the small pic to see a full size pic of the snake.

After the beating we took yesterday morning we decided to look at some different parts of the lake today. We found the fish and limited out on box and 20" plus fish by about 10:15.

Bait fishing was as tough as I have seen it in a while today. We did not catch a fish till after 11:00 AM. We finally had a good run or two and ended up with 45 fish that were on the small side. Maybe tomorrow will get a little better.

The weather conditions were not good this morning, clear blue skies and no wind makes it tough. We caught a limit of fish but most were small with only one over 20" fish. The afternoon was better, a few clouds rolled in and the wind picked up. We limited out with a much better box of fish then we had this morning , over 20" fish to 8 LBS.

Fished  a group of 2 this morning. The fish moved on us and it took a while to find them but once we got on them we caught some good fish to 8 LBS.
