December 30,2002
I fished the river for a little while this morning before the rain. I lost 2 big
fish and caught 6 cats up to 20 LBS. I only fished a couple of holes before the
storms started to roll in. I think the river fishing will be real good for the
next 2 month. Now is the time to book a river trip for big cats.
December 29,2002
I took up all my jug lines today so we can start fishing the river this week. We
caught a full box of Striper, Sand bass , and Catfish today. We also caught 2
big Golden eye Herring today that will make some good cut bait. I will take a pic
of the herring and post it in a few days.
December 21,2002
I have been busy working and playing and have not had time to update. We are
still catching some good cats on jugs and striper fishing is fair. Only 10 more
days of jug fishing then we are off to the river to catch big cats on rod and
reel.
Below are a few recent fish pics.

December 13,2002
Ran jug lines today and caught 6 cats. 3 were in the 30 lb range. Check out the
girth on this fish.

December 12,2002
I caught 6 cats to 30 LBS today on jug lines and limited out on Striper. The
Striper have been pretty tough for me the last few days so I tried some live
bait today and it worked pretty well. The artificial lure fishing is fair but I
think we need some cold weather again to bunch the shad back up and concentrate
the fish into a tighter schools. I think the best way to catch fish right now is
with bait under the birds ,and use lighter tackle. I am using 10 and 12 LB line.
I caught my biggest Striper today on a drop shot rig.

December 11,2002
Ran jug lines today and caught about 8 catfish. Here are pics of the two biggest
of the day a 30 and a 50 LB.

December 10,2002
Unloaded the boat at 3 pm today to run my jug lines. Caught four Blues over 40
LBS and six smaller fish. There were a lot of birds working but I did not have
time to fish for Striper. Here are pics of the four big fish I caught today.

December 9,2002
Went out in the rain and baited my Juglines today. Found some birds working in big mineral so i stopped and caught a few Striper. They would not hit a slab. I ended up catching them on bass assasins and Grubs on 3/8 oz jig heads. Maybe I will have some big cats tomorrow .
December 7,2002
I put out 28 jug lines yesterday. We ran them this morning and only had 2
catfish then we went Striper fishing and caught a few Striper and some Big
Sandbass, then we went and ran the jug lines again got a few more cats. Our
biggest cat was 25 LBS. Not a good day but not a bad one either. I bet will have
some pics of some big fish soon, all the conditions are right. Here is a pic of
our 2 biggest cats of the day, a Blue and a Flathead.
November 30,2002
Fished out west again this morning. We caught some nice fish early then they
shut off about 9:30.

November 29,2002
Fished way out west this afternoon and caught some nice size fish on slabs in 30
ft. of water. Had some great customers today, caught a few fish ,quit early, and
got a good tip, you cant beat that. Capt. Steve

November 28 ,2002
Today is the first day I have been out since it turned cold. I only fished a
couple of hours this afternoon. I usually quit bait fishing after Thanksgiving
and this year will probably not be any different unless it warms up again. I
tried to catch some shad today but the cold weather ran them out of the creeks.
The slab fishing was good. We caught a few 20" fish and a lot of box fish.
From now until Christmas the slab fishing should be very good. Capt Steve

November 22,2002
Finally had a Striper trip today so here is a report. Bait was easy to catch up
in Little Mineral Creek and the fish were even easier to catch off T.I Point in
62 ft. of water fishing down 40 ft. The Lake was deserted, not another boat in
sight. We saw 1 Bald Eagle today.

November 21,2002
Went to the west end of Texoma where the Red runs in looking for ducks this
morning with my partner Dale. We did not find many ducks so we fished for about
a hour for big cats. We caught one Striper by accident and I put Dale on his
biggest cat ever , 45 LBS. We caught the fish in 6 ft. of water on cut shad.
November 16, 2002
Striper fishing was very good on Texoma this morning. We anchored up in 62 foot
of water off T.I. Point and caught a limit of 40 Striper in one hour on live
Shad set at 36 foot, then we went up in the Little Mineral arm and caught a few
Catfish.
November 10, 2002
Striper fishing on Texoma is still good but the nice weather has slowed things
down a little. Striper fishing will get better when we get some more cold
cloudy days. I went hunting on the river for big cats today. Caught a 30 LB
flathead and lost another big cat.

November 4,2002
The big cats are starting to bit. I went Today and caught a 15 and a 25 lb Blue
Cat.

November 3,2002
Me and a friend fished this afternoon for about 3 hours and caught 71 striper. I
caught 38 and he caught 33. We fished slabs under the birds. The fish were in 60
foot of water but we were jigging from 20 to 40 ft. Right before dark the fish
were right on the surface so we had to cast at them.
November 1,2002
Fished bait and slabs today . Never left Little Mineral today. If this cold
weather keeps coming I will probably quit the live bait fishing in a week or so.
We caught 50 to 60 fish today.

October 31,2002
Went out at 11:00 am to catch bait for tomorrow morning. I took a couple of rods
with me just in case I saw some birds working. I got into some pretty good
Striper and Sand Bass on slabs , a couple of the Striper were over
20".These fish were what i call creek fish. This time of year as the
weather cools the shad start to leave the back of the creeks and head for deeper
water ,especially when a cold front hits, and guess who is
waiting for them? Everything that eats shad. So you might want to look in the
creeks right now.
October 29,2002
Fished out west today and caught 38 Striper on live bait then switched to slabs
and caught about 20 more before calling it quits. The key today was fishing
under the birds in less than 40 ft of water. We caught a few under the birds in
60 ft water but the downrigger fisherman were doing much better than us in the
deep water. The fishing would have to get a whole lot tougher before I would
downrig.
October 26,2002
Started out this morning with live bait and boxed 30 fish right quick then
switched to slabs and caught 16 Sand Bass and a few more Striper. Stopped to eat
lunch then headed west and caught some better size fish. The fish
never stopped feeding today we caught around 100 fish today. Here is a pic of
some of the better ones.

October 25,2002
Easy limit today, no big fish, we caught 26 fish on live bait and left them
biting to look for bigger fish .We never found the bigger fish but we caught
about 30 more on slabs.

October 24,2002
I fished a trip Tuesday afternoon and we did really well on slabs under the
birds. My partner fished this morning and they caught 50 fish by 9:00AM on live
shad. I have a 2 boat trip in the morning so hopefully the fish will bit as good
as they did today.
October 15,2002
I fished Thursday evening and the birds were really working heavy. We caught
lots of 20" fish on slabs. The fishing should be good from now till the end
of the year.
October 11,2002
I fished Wednesday evening and did really well on top water lures. Went out
again Thursday morning and found some birds working and caught Striper fast for
about a hour on slabs. The cooler weather is here and the fishing is good.
October 3,2002
Fished Texoma today for striper. Caught lots of fish on bait. No big fish
just box size fish.
September 28,2002
I went scouting for some new places to catch catfish. I hooked a fish that I did
not think I could turn, this fish really had some pull. When I finally got the
fish landed it was only 45 LBS. I like to catch big fish and since the numbers
of big Stripers is on the decline I would like to fish more for big cats if I
can get enough clients to fish for them. Like I have said before if you want to
catch big fish you have to fish for them and that means fishing in the rivers
for me. I would say that 95 percent of the big fish that I have caught are river
fish and all of the cats over 40 LBS that I have caught on rod were river fish.
I release all cats over 20 LBS. There is just no reason to kill a big catfish.
There are plenty of small cats to eat. I really believe that you have to have
the right genetics to produce big fish of any species. That's why they brought
Florida strain largemouth to Texas. If we kill all of our big fish then we are
just killing the future for more big fish because we are removing the genetics
for big fish. Well I could go on for days about selective harvest but I will
stop here with a pic of the 45 pounder.
September 18,2002
Fished the Brazos Sat.-Tues. and caught some really good fish including a 18 and
15 LB Striper and a 11 LB Hybrid. Hopefully my customers will send me some
pics because I forgot my camera. We are not catching as many Striper as we were
but we are catching some nice ones and more Sand bass.
September 8,2002
I fished 4 trips last week with non stop action. We are catching Striper and
Hybrids up to 10 Lbs. The Hybrids and Stripers are averaging about 6 LBS. We are
also catching Sand Bass and the Largemouth Bass fishing is good also. We are
releasing all the Striper and Hybrids that are not gut hooked. A morning trip
has been producing 30 to 40 Stripers in 2 hours. If you want some of this action
call NOW ! 1-866-PRO-GUIDE (776-4843) Here are some pics from last week.
September 2,2002
Fishing was very good over the weekend. Here are some pics of the fish we kept.
We also released quite a few really nice fish.
