Fished the river again today and had another great day. Caught about 30 cats with about 10 that were 5-10 LBS and 10 more that were 10 -22 LBS, and we also caught a 45,34,28,and 25 LB cat.

Another great day on the river. I have been fishing with a cold the last few days it it is effecting my memory. I did not write down the weights of the fish today but we caught about 30 fish with one in the 30's and one in the 40's with lots of fish 10-20 LBS.

Great day on the river today, not my best day ever but definitely the best day we have had in a while. Caught a 55,46,42,40,37,31,28,and 22 LB cats and lots of 5-20 LB fish. Ended up catching about 40 fish total.

Fished the lake today for striper with artificial baits and it was nothing like the 23rd. ten fish in about 4 hours so we called it quits.

Fished the lake with lures today and limited out on striper. Lots of box fish and a few over 20". All fish were very fat and healthy.

Slow again today but caught a huge blue cat that weighed 70 LBS. Also caught a 31 LB and a few smaller ones.

We have been filming some segments for In-Fisherman Television the last few days. We had a tough time with the big cats in the river but ended up with a few pretty good fish. We also striper fished below the dam and on the lake. I will post something when I find out when it will air.

Fished the river today for big cats. Ended up with a 35,25,20 and a few under 20 LBS.

Fished the lake for a couple of hours today. The striper I caught were as fat as I have ever seen them, the box fish are looking good and average about 17 inches. I also caught some over 20" fish that looked really good and fat. I still think we lost quite a few over 20" fish this summer but that is part of what makes this lake a great numbers lake. If anyone wants to go catch a bunch of striper on artificial lures now is the time.

Fished for big cats on the river today and caught 5 big cats , 30,35,40, 45, and 55 LBS. Looks like we will have a good winter as long as we don't get any big rains.

Fished the river this afternoon for striper, we were going to fish the lake then the wind turned out of the north this morning and was gusting to about 30 MPH so we decided to go to the river. Nothing big but the action was as fast as it gets on 3-5 LB fish.

Time to shift gears and change up the program a little, it is getting to cold to mess with all these little fish, with live bait ,we have been catching so as I usually do this time of year we are going to start our full day trophy catfish trips. Since we have a lot more 10 LB plus striper in the river this year we will also be targeting larger striper if anyone is interested. I will also be lure fishing some in the lake for striper and that should be good for box fish and a few over 20" fish. With the floods last summer I look for a great winter on the river as long as we don't get any big rains.

Striper fishing on the river was about the same today. Limited out and released a lot more 20-24 inch fish. Biggest fish was 12 LBS and we lost another fish that was about the same size.

Striper fishing was good on the river this morning, water was on and we caught them good on every drift. Kept a nice limit and released a few bigger fish up to 8 LBS.

Fished a group of 4 in the AM and 3 in the PM. Morning trip was fast action the first hour then it slowed down , ended up catching about 40 fish from 20-25 inches. Afternoon trip started with all small fish so we went down river and got on some nice fish, 2 right at 11 pounds each.

Still running doubles every day on the river and the fishing is a little tougher but we are still catching them really good on some trips and fair to good on others.

Fished a group of 3 in the AM and 4 in the PM. Gut hooked a lot of small fish early so our limit of fish was on the small side but later we caught a lot of bigger fish on topwater lures. Afternoon trip was good with fast action and lots of solid fish, but nothing real big.

Fished a group of 4 in the AM and 4 in the PM. The morning started off slow because they shut the water off about the time we got there , but once the water dropped a little it was on, nothing big ,except for the 22 LB drum, but lots of action and ended up with a nice box of fish. The afternoon was better with fish up to 15 LBS. We also lost a few more big fish. We tried for 20 minutes to release the 15 LB fish but it was to stressed out and would not swim off.

Fishing every morning and afternoon right now and the bite is still as good as it gets on live shad and topwater lures. We are catching lots of fish on every trip and a few fish over 10 LBS.

Fished a group of 2 in the AM and 4 in the PM. Caught them good on both trips on bait and topwater lures, big fish of the day was a very fat 15 LB fish that hit a topwater lure so hard it got everyone's attention in the boat.

Two great trips on the river today. The morning trip was good with 1 9 LB fish and 2 fish right at 10 LBS . The afternoon trip was a little better with a 11 and 12 LB fish. Lots of 4-8 LB fish. Released the big fish except for the 11 LB fish that we just could not revive.

Still catching them fast and furious on the river with limits of mostly 20-25 inch fish. Limited out today with no fish under 20 inches. River limit is 5 per person with no size restrictions but if we catch one over 10 LBS we like to release them.

Had a cancellation today so I unboxed 8 new catfish rod and reels and spooled them up with 65 LB Big Game Braid. These are Ambassadeur 6500 TC reels on 8 foot ugly stick catfish rods. They are 4 bearing reels with a really nice power handle. They will get a good workout this winter.

Fished 3 trips on the river today. Started off with a group of 6 and the action was non stop, then fished a group of 4 with the same results. My 3rd trip was a group of 2 and it was a little tougher but once we got it going it was on.

Helped another guide with a large group on the lake today. Lots of fat fish from 12-17 inches and long skinny fish up to 26 inches. Limited out on striper and also caught this 5 LB smallmouth bass.

Fished the lake today and caught 50-60 fish before we got 20 that were not to skinny to filet. Good fishing but most are not worth eating right now. We are fishing the river tomorrow morning and afternoon.

Fishing is really good in the river. The lake fishing is pretty good and will get better with the cold front that is going to hit this afternoon. This week I have The following mornings open for booking, Thursday and Friday. I also have these afternoons open, Tuesday, Thursday , Friday, and Sunday.

Fished the river this morning with a group of 2. We caught them good on topwaters and when we started catching some larger fish we had another boat come to close and spooked our fish of the shallow bar we were fishing. We did catch and release some good size fish before the other boat showed up. We fished the lake in the afternoon and limited out on over 20" fish with topwater lures.

I have been fishing myself the last few days and I found the best topwater fishing I have seen in years. I caught them almost every cast this morning. Most were 4-7 LB fish but I also had one 10 and one 13 LBS. If anyone can fish tomorrow morning I am open and I will guarantee some great topwater action.

Fished a group of 3 in the morning and limited out on box and over 20" fish. The box fish are running a little small and a lot of the over 20" fish are skinny. Fished a group of 5 in the afternoon. We started off catching small box fish on slabs then after we caught about 100 or so in a hour and a half we went looking for bigger fish, we found them on topwater's and caught about 20 over 20" fish. The topwater bite is getting better and better, we have a front coming in next week and that should make for some great topwater fishing. I have lots of weekdays open and topwater fishing is the most exciting way to catch striper.

I fished the lake this morning and caught lots of fish on topwater lures. Fishing is good on the lake right now if you are good at casting and can get into the right spot at the right time ,but it is also tough to figure out where they will be from day to day.

I got back home last week and have been taking a little time off. Usually I would be fishing for gator gar in the river but the river is way to high this year. I will get back to striper fishing in a few days. Here is a pic of a 19 LB snapper I caught ,I think we hook a few of this size fish but most will pull you down into the structure and break you off unless you really get after them as soon as they are hooked.
