We fished from 1- 3:30 on the lake today and the striper action was non stop. Released a bunch of over 20" fish and got real close to a limit of box fish. The striper fishing just does not get any better then it is right now for fishing with artificial baits.

Fished the river today for big catfish. We started off with some good action on some small fish then we caught a 17 and a 45 LB blue cat. We also lost 2 more big fish.

Fished the river today and it was a slow start. Lost a few good fish and caught a 14LB flathead , then a 18 LB blue cat, and then we finally got the one we were looking for late in the day. This fish weighed 40 LBS.

Fished a group of 3 on the lake this afternoon from 2:30 till 5:30 and we killed them on lures, non stop action on good fish up to 7 lbs with lots of fat over 20" fish.

Fished the river today. Caught a 30 LB blue cat and 2 flatheads that were about 10LBS each. We did a little snagging and caught a paddlefish and a few buffalo, we also hooked up with 3 big gator gar but did not land them.

The water is scheduled to be off Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I have Monday open for a river trip for trophy catfish and spoonbill. Low water means good fishing downstream. We sat in the fog till 10 AM this morning then it finally cleared out so we went looking for fish and found a few groups of fish but it never got real good so we went in and ate lunch and came back out to find more of the same. Ended up getting into a few more fish right before dark and finished the day with 30 in the box and released a few more over 20" fish. The striper fishing will get really good again when we get another cold front.

Fished a afternoon trip on the lake for striper and the fishing was very good , we caught lots of over 20" fish and ended up with about 28 in the box. Striper fishing with artificial baits does not get much better than it is right now.

Striper fished on the lake today. Started at 10:30 AM due to a very cold morning and almost a full moon, it was a good move because the fish did not start schooling up till after 11. We had a solid limit of fish and released a lot of over 20" fish up to 10LBS. Left them biting at 2:30.All fish caught on slabs and jigs . Right now is the best time for a trip like this fishing with artificial baits. Don't wait because it will probably start to slow down if it gets really cold in January.

Finally the airboat is ready so we went to the river for a few hours today. Ended up catching a 31 and a 40 LB cat. I will be fishing the lake tomorrow and the river over the weekend. Now is the time for artificial baits for striper on the lake and big cats in the river.

Looks like cold weather headed our way by midweek so I think this will be it for bait fishing and it will be time to break out the lures. I should have my Airboat finished this week so we will start fishing the river for big catfish soon.

Fished a group of 3 in the AM and 3 in the PM. My morning group wanted to start late so we started at 9:30 and fished till noon. Ended up with about 20 or so fish. The afternoon was tough , the birds have been working in the afternoon but nothing today. We caught about 10 fish early in the afternoon then caught about 15 more right at dark.

Started off cold this morning so I figured we could get them on lures, wrong, I finally caught some bait at about 9 and we caught about 40 fish on bait then the birds started working and we finished up with lures. Fished a group of 6 in the AM and 6 in the PM. The morning fishing was slow and everywhere we fished the small fish were just wearing us out, we ended up with some keepers in the box and a lot of throw back dinks. The afternoon was much better and we caught a good limit of fish up to 8 LBS.

Fished a group of 6 today and we limited out with 60 fish in the box, mostly box fish with a few over 20" fish. Looks like the rain helped the fishing and we have a lot of water coming down the river that should bring the lake level up some.

Fishing was a little tough Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. We fished a group of 11 Friday afternoon and ended up catching some fish but it was slow. Saturday morning was OK with a few boats getting limits and a few came in with very few fish. Saturday afternoon was not any better. Maybe this rain will help the fishing.

Back from Port O'Connor. Fishing was pretty good with limits of snapper and lots of bull reds in the bay. I am thinking about fishing out of Port O'Connor next August instead of Galveston. I have a few Striper trips booked this month but I need to get the phone ringing so I can have something to report on here. I don't know what to think any more, last year gas was 3 dollars a gallon and I had one of my best Octobers ever, this year gas is 2 dollars a gallon and if things continue it looks like my worst October ever. Hopefully things will turn around here in the next week and maybe I can think about buying a new boat, more on that later.

Fished the river and caught some paddle fish, long nose gar, a 38 LB catfish and finally landed a gator gar after losing one at the boat and breaking a few more off.

Strange day today. We were Gator Gar fishing in the Red River and we caught what I thought was a record size longnose gar but the more I look at the pic I think it could be a cross between a longnose and a gator gar. One thing is for sure it does not look like any other gator gar I have caught. The fish is at the hatchery in Durant,OK and will be Identified next week. Her are a couple of pics, if it is a longnose it is a giant but if it has any gator gar it will just be another average fish.

Saltwater fishing has been a little tough this August with the wind and thunderstorms but we finished strong today with a bunch of big sharks and this big Tarpon that was probably close to 200 LBS and took almost 2 hours to land. I hated to leave yesterday after a good day and a great weather forecast for the next 5 days but time was up and it was time to head back to Texoma. By the way sorry for the bad pics , maybe my customers will send me some better ones, they fished better then they took pics that is for sure.

The weather was good today, no storms and light winds. We made it about 2 miles out of the pass and the fuel pump went out on the boat, that $225.00 dollar fuel pump I have been carrying around for the last 2 years in my console was put to good use today, it was tough to change but after about 45 min. I had it going and we were headed out to get some snapper. Snapper fishing was tough but we finally caught a limit.

We have had a lot of wind and storms the last few days but we made it out today. The seas were rough and the water was stirred up pretty bad but we still caught a few sharks up to about 100 LBS.

The weather made it tough for us today. The wind was blowing hard so we went to the jetties and caught a few small sharks and 2 bull reds before a big storm ran us off, it rained till about 4 PM then it stopped and the wind slowed down so we went out of the pass and caught a few big sharks up to about 120 LBS.

Fished offshore on Saturday and near shore for sharks on Sunday. Fishing was a little slow but we did catch some snapper and king fish. We hooked a really good dolphin (the fish not the mammal) that jumped about 8 foot out of the water 5 or 6 times before it threw the hook. We caught about a dozen sharks on Sunday and called it quits early. We had 2 boats out on Texoma Saturday and one on Sunday, all trips caught lots of over 20" fish and a very few box fish.

I had to go back to Texoma a couple of days for some boat repairs. I went out scouting some new places yesterday and found a few new snapper spots. I will be fishing tomorrow and the next day but I have some open days next week if anyone wants to get in a saltwater trip.

Shark fishing was better today and we caught 17 up to 6 foot then they called it quits at 12:30. The sharks put on a good show for us today , most of them jumped at lest once and a few of them jumped 3 times. Shark fishing was as good as it gets this morning, every time you put a bait in the water it would get bit in 10 seconds or less then a storm chased us in after about 2 hours of catching. We went back out after the storm blew over and caught them again. Here is a pic of a 6 foot bull shark.

Shark fishing again today. We started off slow and one guy got sick so we had to take him in early. We went back out and finished up the day on a good run of Sharks up to 6 foot. We kept 1 to eat and released the rest. We are going offshore tomorrow for some snapper.
