Scouted the river today for big striper and it looks good, only fished about one hour and caught lots of small fish and 6 fish from 10-17 LBS.

Fished a group of 2 both days and limited out with live bait. We started off fishing slabs Monday and caught a few fish then they would not hit them so we switched to bait.

Fished a group of 3 in the AM and 4 in the PM. North wind was blowing all day today. Had to take it easy with my morning crew so we fished calmer waters and caught a limit. Afternoon we had to get out in the rough water but it was not to bad and got better late in the afternoon. Afternoon group limited out and released this nice fish that was probably close to 10 LBS. From what I saw today it is just about time to quit the bait fishing and go to artificial baits. I have small groups Monday and Tuesday so we might try some lures.

Fished a group of 6 in the AM and 5 in the PM. Morning trip weather was nice and afternoon the north wind was really blowing. Limited out both trips but caught a few better fish in the afternoon.

Fished a group of 5 in the afternoon and limited out , the wind was really bad but my Twin Vee Cat cut right through the chop and got us across the lake smooth and dry.

Fished morning and afternoon Saturday and Sunday then Monday morning. Fishing is as good as it gets and the size of the fish seems to be getting better by the day. The next 3 weeks should be the best live bait fishing of the fall. I have plenty of openings.

This week has been good with limits of fish on every trip. We are using live bait and will continue this pattern till about Thanksgiving then mostly fish the river for big cats and a few striper trips using artificial baits.

Fished a group of 5 in the AM and 3 in the PM. Caught 2 nice fish early then nothing but box fish the rest of the day, limits of fish on both trips, the afternoon trip was very windy, no small boats out on the main lake.

Fished a group of 5 on the lake today and had a slow start but finally ended up getting on some fish and limited out on box fish.

My guide service is really slow right now so I got a little bored and decided to do something I have not done in a while, night fishing for flathead catfish. I was going to stay all night but caught all I wanted to catch by 10:30 PM.  Forgot to get my scales out of my other boat so I have to do some guessing on the weights. First fish was about a 30 LB blue cat, nice fish but not what I was after, second and 3rd fish hooked up at the same time, about 15 LB flathead and a 50 + LB blue that I was thinking would never stop peeling line, 4th fish was a nice flathead in the upper 20's, 5th fish was another flathead in the mid 20's, and the sixth fish was a 30+ flathead, Pics turned out ok using the timer on my camera except for the biggest flathead, I should have checked it before releasing the fish. Live perch and shad for bait.

Woke up this morning to a cool north wind so I knew what I had to do. I did not have any customers today but I knew the topwater bite would be on and I was right. I caught lots of box and over 20"  fish up to 8 LBS. I hate to see days like today go by without customers in the boat. I set the timer on my camera and took this pic but it was out of focus for some reason.

Fished a group of 4 in the afternoon and limited out on box and over 20" fish. Fishing conditions were about as bad as they could be with bright sun and no wind but the fishing was great. We also had to release quite a few over 20" fish up to about 7 LBS.

Fished a group of 5 this morning and caught a limit of striper( 50)on live shad.  Fish are in great condition  and this fall will be much better fishing on the lake then it was last year. This Saturday and Sunday are open for striper fishing.

I have been fishing a little myself and fishing is good in the lake or river. Weekend days are getting booked up in October but fishing is usually better during the week. Still have a few weekend spots open and lots of weekdays open.

I went scouting on the lake this morning and it looks like this fall will be much better then last year. I caught fish on almost every cast for about a hour this morning throwing topwater lures, lots of good box fish and a good mix of over 20" fish. The fish were all in good shape and not skinny like last year, they were also very   aggressive and  would sometimes knock my lure out of the water several times before getting hooked. Now till November should be good topwater fishing early and good bait fishing later in the day.

Ike sent me back home a few days early. Despite the weather we had a good run in the saltwater. My 26 foot cat handled great and rides really good in the chop. Looks like striper fishing might start a little early this fall with the cooler weather the water has cooled to 81 degrees and has already went through the fall turnover. I will probably hit the lake next week looking for some topwater action.

Fished offshore today but we did not have to go very far. Started out catching a limit of snapper then we caught a few kings, blue fish, grouper, lady fish, and one big jack. On the way back in we stopped on some bait and caught a king and all the sharks you wanted, they were really turned on and circling the boat eating every bait we threw them. Caught a good ling that followed one of our sharks to the boat.

Shark fishing today. Started out tough and we hunted for them till about 11:00 AM then we finally found a shrimp boat culling some by catch and we caught all we wanted fast. Kept these 3 and probably released about 10 more.

Fished for snapper and kings in state waters today and ended up with a nice limit of snapper, one ling, and a limit of kings but we only kept 2. The high and low point of the day was right before we headed in we were tied up to a rig 6 miles off the beach catching a few kings and a big sailfish swam around the boat for a couple of minutes, we tossed some dead shad at him but he was not going for that, the worse part is I had just drained my bait tank and threw away about 20 hand sized live pin perch. We might have got a bite on a live bait.  Even if we did not catch him it was cool just to see.

Home in Pottsboro for a few days then back to POC for a couple weeks. The wind and seas have finally calmed down and the tarpon may show up now. I have days open and the weather this week could not be any better.

Shark fishing was good today. Caught all we wanted in two drifts.

Started about 9:00 AM due to storms in the Gulf.  When we headed out the pass we were greeted with light rain and strong winds that really chopped it up out there, people say Texoma gets rough but it aint nothing compared to the Gulf of Mexico. We slowly made our way out about 5 miles and started a drift in a small shrimp boat cull and it was on.  We drifted for about 2 miles with non stop action on sharks up to 5 foot then when it slowed down we moved to another spot and caught a few bigger ones up to 6 foot and called it a day. Kept these 4 small ones to eat and let the rest go.

Great day today.  Lots of storms all around us but we never got wet. One good thing about stormy weather is that it is much cooler. Fishing was as good as it gets, limits of snapper and kings, two nice ling, a few sharks and jacks. We are catching some big snapper in state waters right now. We are shark fishing tomorrow.

Lots of storms today ,spent a lot of our time trying to stay out of them. Started out looking for kings but only found big sharks  ,ended up in state waters and found some really good size snapper and one ling.

Shark fishing today, started off slow then had to run from a storm and ended up finding a shrimp boat that was covered up with sharks. Caught all we wanted then went looking but only found some undersize ling ,small sharks, and some gaff top catfish. Kept 2 sharks to eat and let the rest go.

Fished offshore today and caught lots of king fish ,one ling, and almost a state limit of snapper.

Rough waters but the shark fishing was good. To rough to cover much water so we just had to drift and chum them up.

Offshore again today and it was better. We caught some kings ,snapper, and ling but the catch of the day was this 28 LB dorado. The dorado put on a good show in the water making 3 good jumps and then put on a better show in the boat when we gaffed it a little on the green side and it went crazy when it hit the floor and covered the whole back of the boat with blood.

Fishing offshore was slow for us today. Caught a few kings ,two undersize amberjack, caught one small baracuda and lost another big one that looked about 5 foot long when it jumped out of the water and broke the line. Snapper season is closed in Federal waters but we have been catching some nice ones in state water till today, we only got a couple of good ones today.

Fished the river again today. You can catch all the fish you want but a lot are on the small side. Kept a pretty good limit up to 8 LBS and released a 12 and 15 lb fish.

Caught them early on the river today. Caught a lot of fish , kept a limit and released two 15 LB fish. The two big fish swam off in good shape, we net them and leave the fish in the water to remove the hook, then we pull the fish out of the water for a quick pic. It is very important to get the fish back in the water quick, every second counts. Some of the other guide services and bank fishermen are still killing our bigger fish but with all the small fish we have to eat I just don't get it.

Morning and afternoon trips almost every day with limits of fish on every trip. Good boxes of fish with lots of over 20" fish. I have caught more hybrids this year then I have caught in the last few years combined, the floods last year washed them in from somewhere. The one in the pic below is about 8 LBS.

We fished a group of 18 in 3 boats this morning. My boat limited out on box and over 20" fish and we also released about 10 more over 20" fish. The other 2 boats limited out and had a few over 20" fish. The two boats that helped me this morning out fished me last time we fished together but we got even today.

Fished a group of 9 this morning on the lake. Started out catching mostly over 20" fish then started getting some good box fish. We caught them good for about a hour then we had to move a couple of more times before we limited out about 10:30 with 90 fish in the box and all our over 20" fish.
