Fished the river this morning, the bite was a little slow but steady. Limited out on striper. I will be fishing in the lake every day now and the action is hot so stay tuned.

Fished a group of 5 in the AM and 4 in the PM. Limited out both trips. Fishing has really picked up on the lake and it should be mostly limits of fish for a while.

We fished a group of 13 in the AM and then took them to the river for a airboat ride in the PM.

Fished a group of 4 on the river today. Limited out on striper then caught a couple of paddlefish.
Monday morning the 30th is open.

Another good trip on the river today. Tomorrow and Monday the 30th are open then all mornings are booked till May 14th.

A friend and I fished the lake this morning and the shallow water as good as it gets, we caught them on topwater lures and shad. The action was very fast, it was the best bite I have seen so far this spring. I have Thursday and Friday open this week.

Fished the river today with a group of 4. Limited out with a nice box of fish. I have a few spots open for river fishing on the airboat and the action is really good.

We fished the river today and the striper fishing was good. We caught fish on every drift. This Friday and Saturday are open due to cancellations, after that no more Saturdays open till mid June.

Fishing is still a little off but with the warm weather coming up it should bust wide open in a few days.

Cold and windy today. I had 3 boats out this morning. My boat caught 19 fish and the other boats had 2 fish each. Looks like we will have to take some of them fishing again. Maybe this is the last bad cold front.

Fished a group of 3 in the river today. It was a little tough with the wind but we finally had a limit of fish by noon.

Fished a morning and afternoon trip today and the fishing was tough for us. Caught enough to make the trips but not what we should be catching by now. We need this weather to get warm.

Had a double scheduled for today but we cancelled because of the unseasonable weather. A few boats went out in the afternoon and caught very few fish. When the weather gets back to normal we will start catching them again.

Cold and windy this morning. We went out but called it quits pretty quick. Tried to go back out in the afternoon but the wind was too much.

The lake level is rising and the lake will be full in a day or so, looks like they might even have to run a little flood water below the dam.

Fished a group of 5 this afternoon and the fishing was good again, we ended up with 33 fish in the box and had to release a lot of over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 7 this afternoon and the fishing was good. We caught about 50 striper that were all good fish, some over 20" and lots of big fat box fish.

Fished a group of 3 this morning and the fishing was very good, caught about 60 fish and kept a good limit of fish. Fished another group of 3 this afternoon and the fishing was as good as it gets. We anchored up threw out some shad and the fish came to the surface all around the boat. I think I know why the fishing is so good and when I find out for sure I will post the reason on here. I have seen the fishing like this before and have a pretty good idea what is to blame for the great fishing.

Fished a AM and a PM trip again today. Morning trip was good and the afternoon , after the big thunderstorm rolled thru, was as good as it gets.

Fishing was very good today with lots of over 20" fish. I have a good pattern for the fish right now and a few spots open this week. Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon are open.

Fished in the new boat this morning. Fishing was slow but we caught a few nice ones and released a 10 LB.

Today would have been the perfect day to fish down river with the water off for 3 days and no rain but wouldn't you know it my guys cancelled on me , looks like some new names on the black list. I did fish the lake this morning by myself and caught my limit of box and over 20" fish. Caught my striper this morning on a spring time pattern so it looks like it is starting a little early.

I have tomorrow open for catfish trip and the water has been off for 3 days and that should make for some really good fishing down river. We have not had the right conditions to fish down river all winter and tomorrow will be my last open day for a catfish trip if anyone wants to go. I may have a single fisherman that will split the trip with another single.

Fished the river again today and we caught small fish all day, but at  about 4:30 PM we caught a 42 LB blue cat, a few minutes later we caught a 45 LB flathead to finish the day good.

Fished the river again today. caught about 20 cats with a few big ones 18,23.and 28 LBS. We also lost a really big one today.

I bought a new boat and will be picking it up next week. It is a 26 foot Twin Vee. I went down to Beaumont and test drove one a few weeks ago and it was a very smooth ride in choppy conditions. The boat has a wide floor with lots of room and is a lot more stable in the water than a deep v  boat. It is  powered by twin  suzuki 150 four stroke motors. We fished east for big cats today but it was a slow day and we only caught one that went 40 LBS.

Fished the river out west today. No big fish but 33 cats from 5 to 14 lbs. Probably had about a 7 LB average, that over 200 LBS of fish.

Found the fish out west. Usually I have to many catfish customers and not enough good spots to fish but this year I have not had very many catfish trips so I have lots of good places that we have not fished this year. I wanted to slow the catfish bookings down a little this year so I raised the price a little and  stopped cleaning catfish. Looks like it worked but I think the cold weather has also slowed people down a little.

Trophy catfish season is passing by fast and I still have a lot of spots we have not fished yet this winter. Where are all my catfish people?  I have all my weekends booked but need some weekday trips. I am headed out west to do some scouting tomorrow, the river has finally dropped to the right level out that way.

Did a Bald Eagle watching trip today and we saw about 7 different birds in 2 hours. My camera is not near good enough to get pics.

Another good day today.  Started with a 30 LB cat . Then we caught the biggest fish of the year so far 57 LBS. Finished up with a double,  20 and 40 LBS.

I have been sick with the stomach virus this week so I had to cancel some fishing trips. Fished the river today and had a good day with a 19,21,30,41,and 46 LB blue cats.

Fished a group of 3 on the river today. We had a pretty steady bite today and caught about 12    5-10 lb cats and a couple of bigger ones that went 21 and 45 LBS.

I had so many problems with the motor on my new airboat I just decided to take some time off and put a different motor on it , here is what I have on it now  http://www.pcmengines.com/NewFiles/60%20spec%20sheet%20web.pdf . I ran it today and it is way better then what I had, not quite as much power but it idles and runs very smooth. I fished a little myself today and caught my personal best catfish, I have put customers on many fish that were bigger than this one but I think this is my personal best, almost 50 LBS.  The boat is ready and the fishing should be good with all the cold weather.

Striper fishing in the lake today started off slow but by the afternoon it was going good, we ended up catching a little over 50 fish.

Tomorrow should be a great striper fishing day with the cold front coming in tonight. I have tomorrow and Sunday open. The winter striper fishing has been as good as it gets on the lake.  I had river trips booked but I had to cancel them because I am having trouble with my airboat, the engine I put in it just is not working out so I decided to go ahead and let the company that built it buy it back , I was tired of all the problems and I think they were to. I should have the new motor in it and running again next week.

Started off the new year on the river with a 31 and a 46 LB cat. River was a little stained down river but we did get 1 spoonbill.
