May 31,2003
Fished a morning and evening trip today. Limited out on box and over 20" fish both trips.

May 30,2003
We fished a big group this morning. I think we had 10 boats and about 55 people. 9 boats were limited out by 8 AM in the same location. Here is a pic of the catch from 9 boats and 50 fishermen with a limit of striper (500).

May 26,2003
The fish are getting a little harder to find but when we find them the action is non stop. Another limit today.

May 24,2003
We had some clouds and wind today and the action was good.

May 23,2003
Tough fishing for me today. We did not start till 8:00 AM and the bright sun and the lack of wind made the fishing slow. We only caught 28 stripers but missed a lot of bites because the fish were finicky.

May 22,2003
This morning started of slow. We only had 8 fish at 10:30 AM then all heck broke loose about 11:00 and we caught 42 fish in about 30 min. to fill our limit. Dale fished this afternoon and caught a quick limit.

May 21,2003
Helped another guide with a large group today. I think that will be my last big group thing. What a wreck. Well at least I finished early and not because we caught a limit. my group decided to quit at 9:00 AM. They should have toughed it out because the fish really turned on about 11:00AM.

May 20,2003
Windy, windy, windy today. Most boats did not even venture out on the big water today but Big Red made it with no problem. Lucky for me I had some guys that could cast today and we killed them on top water lures.

May 18,2003
Started out struggling for bait. Finally found some bait then the wind went dead calm and it got hot so we quit and decided to go another day. I had another group out in the afternoon and the wind blew a little and we limited out on box and 20" fish.

May 17,2003 P.M.
The wind calmed down some and we had non stop action. Limited out on box and 20" fish.

May 17,2003 A.M.
It was very windy this morning so we put in at East Burns and stayed hide from the wind. We did not get them real good but we still caught a nice box of fish.

May 16,2003
Fished four guys today. Started of slow but finally found a good spot and we whacked them real good. I had to start using the smallest baits I had in my tank because if you put a big bait down you would catch a over 20" fish quick and we had all of them that the law would allow. By the way that is the stupidest law ,those big fish are going to die when you catch them in the summer time. Our biggest fish was about 9 pounds. Dale was tied up to us and they caught a 13 LB fish.

May 15,2003
Only had 2 customers in the boat today. Never really caught them hot and heavy but still caught a limit.
May 14,2003
Strange day today. We started late because of the storms. When I pulled up to the boat dock at East Burns Run I was really surprised to see that there was a strong current, I did not think it rained enough to get that much run off. We then went up into the end of the long cove at burns looking for bait. I noticed that I did not see any fresh water coming in but I really did not think about it that much. I used my trolling motor to go as far as I could then when the water got to shallow I tried to back the boat out with the big motor like I have done a thousand times before but we were stuck good and that's when I figured out what all the current was about at the dock.   Before long we were sitting in mud with no water, I am talking completely beached. The water left out so quick there were fish scrambling to get out of the cove. I guess the storms pushed the water around in the lake and sucked the water out of burns run. I thought we were in a real mess but a few minutes later the water came back in and we were floating again. The water went down about 2 foot and then came back up in about 10 minutes. I have spent a lot of time on the water and I have never seen anything like that in freshwater.  O' yea the fishing was really good once we finally caught some bait and started fishing.

May 12,2003
The fishing was really good this morning. Limits of box  and 20" fish.

May 9,2003
Fished mostly topwater today. Caught about 20 but mostly small . I channel cat that hit a Chug Bug . Hit the deep water with live bait and caught a few more then quit early. had one double on a top dog.

May8,2003
We started out topwater fishing today and caught a few small striper and  sandies . Then we went bait fishing and whacked them again. Only had 2 people today and did not get a pic. We had to release a lot of 20 inch fish today. My partner dale had 6 guys in his boat and they all caught a limit . I have a few days open for may striper fishing and since the weather is hot and dry don't wait to long  because the dog days of summer are almost here. I am taking two out this evening. I have not fished in the afternoon lately but it is almost time for some big fish to start showing up in the afternoon.
The afternoon fishing was as good as the morning, Maybe better. Lot's of good size fish.
May 7,2003
We are surly going to hit a tough day sometime, But not today. Lots of fish on live bait and a few on topwater. We caught a few fish on topwater in the main lake around some giant schools of gizzard shad that were swimming on the surface.

May 5,2003
Another easy limit. not to many dinks ,mostly 19-24 inch fish.

May 4,2003
We only kept the gut hooked fish today. I tried to get these boys to hold some fish up for a pic but they did not  want any part of that. We probably caught about 70 fish this morning and kept about 35.

May 3,2003
Big group today. Lots of fish.

May 2,2003
More ,Bigger ,and better topwater.

May 1,2003
Another easy limit. Not as fast as yesterday but steady. Caught some fish on topwater.

April 30,2003
Texoma just keeps getting better. Only had 2 people fishing this morning so we only kept the gut hooked fish and released all the rest. We caught about 75 and the fishing was so fast the guys could only handle one rod each. We released a lot of fish that were bigger than the ones we kept because the little ones kept swallowing the hook. I don't mind releasing lip hooked fish this time of year because they will survive well in the cool water.

April 29,2003
Fishing is great on Texoma so far this spring but the guide business is slow. I have a plan to get more people out on the lake. I know some people cant afford a full service guided trip so here is what I have in mind. I am going to make Wednesdays my party boat day . Here is the deal. I supply the boat ,bait ,and tackle. You provide a Lake Texoma   fishing license($7.75) ,A cooler to take your fish home in, and $50.00. We will fish for 4-5 hours. This is not a private charter and there may be up to 10 people fishing. We limited out easy again today.

April 26,2003
Another great morning on Texoma. We caught about 50 striper on live shad.

April 22,2003
The fishing was great this morning, the fastest action I have seen so far this year and it should only get better in the next week as more of the larger fish start to show up. Time to book a trip.

April 21,2002
The fishing was good early this morning then it slowed way down after 8 AM when the sun was real bright and the wind stopped blowing.

April19,2003
Fast action today. 40 fish by 9 am. No big fish just box fish. We anchored up and fished live shad .
April 13,2003
We only had one problem with the fishing today and that was that we did not have enough people in the boat. We limited out pretty quick and even had a few 20" fish. The fishing should be good from now till August. We fished live bait straight down today.

April 11,2003
I think the fishing will really turn on if we can stay warm for a few days. The recent cold front has set us back a little but we are still catching decent boxes of fish. We missed a lot of fish today. They just were not very aggressive. We ended up with 26 Striper,2 Sandbass, and 1 catfish.

April 5,2003
The fishing is getting better. We caught about 20 fish this morning with 8 over 20". Here is a pic of the 6 largest.

April 2,2003
Did not fish yesterday or today. I will probably fish Thursday or Friday , I don't have a trip booked until Saturday and cant afford the high gas prices to go do much looking right now. I may have to go back to Catfishing or flipping burgers if the phone does not start ringing more. I have been learning how to make my own slabs for freshwater and saltwater. You start out building a few then before you know it you have several hundred. Here is a pic of a few of them.

March 31,2003
Fished today and last Saturday. No change yet, Small striper and big sandbass. The warm weather this week should get things going.

March 27,2003
The fishing is about to get going at Texoma. It is time to book a trip for this spring. We are catching fish on sassy shad and long line trolling with crank baits. The topwater bite  will kick off shortly . If you have never caught striper on topwater then don't miss it this year.

March 14,2003
Spring time is here and the fish are headed up the Red River. We fished up the Red River from Texoma today. We caught 9 cats 10 sand bass and 1 striper. The fishing up in the river should get better in the next few days as long as we don't get a big rain. We were not set up for the sandbass today but next time I go up there I will have some light tackle because the sandbass are thick. I heard some good reports from the lake today. The striper fishing is getting better.

March 11,2003
Fished a morning and a evening trip today the bite is still slow but we caught some good fish again today. We only caught 4 fish this morning but one was about 15 LBS . The evening was a little better with 7 fish and 3 over 10 LBS. I think the fishing should really pick up in the next few weeks.

March 10,2003
We fished a long day today and the bite was slow but we caught some really nice size fish.

March 7,2003
It looks like it will be a good year for striper fishing on Texoma. There are a lot of double digit fish being caught right now and all the fish are very fat and healthy looking. We are catching the striper in shallow water on artificial and live bait. Here is a couple of double digit fish.

March 6,2003
We made it all the way to the boat ramp yesterday  before my customers decided it was to cold to fish. So no big cats. Big cat fishing is over for this year and it is time to start looking for striper. I will probably be doing a few catfish trips but we will mostly be striper fishing until next winter.

March 2,2003
Well I finally had a day today that I have been expecting for a while. Our biggest cat today was only 17 LBS. Today's group will get to go next time for free since we did not catch a 20 LB fish today.

March 1,2003
Fishing was a little slower today but we did get a 40 pounder and lost another big cat.
