Lake fishing is still slow but the river fishing is fast action on fish up to 10 LBS. River fishing will probably slow down towards the end of July so if you want to fish the river now is the time.

The river fishing is on !!! The flood this spring has stocked the river and now is the time to book a river striper trip. I have to fish the lake with a big group tomorrow morning but other then that I will be fishing the river till I leave for the coast in August. I fished the lake yesterday afternoon and we caught a limit but the action was a little slow. I fished the river this morning ,we caught fish as fast as you could get a bait in the water and some were really nice size up to 9 LBS.

Fishing is still good but it has been a little tougher to get on some fish that will bite. I did not fish today but heard it was pretty tough this morning. I can not believe it is almost July. If the lake gets tough I think the river will be good now that they have shut of the flood water, I will probably run some trips below the dam in July then I will be headed to the coast, I need about 4 more groups to come fishing with me at Port O'Connor in August.

Still catching good boxes of fish with lots of over 20" fish but there have been a few days that have been a little harder to find some fish that will bite. I still have some weekdays open in June and some weekend and weekdays in July. I have started getting my things ready to go to Port O'Connor in August and  I  still have some open days left.

Fishing is still very good and the only limits we have missed is on box fish because there are so many over 20" fish. My weekends are full in June but I have some other good guides that are open and I have lots of weekdays open. We have been fishing a lot of trips but I have not been doing reports on every trip like i did in the past.

Fishing is still as good as it gets with good boxes of fish and lots of over 20" fish. I have a full weekend starting tomorrow but have some days open next week. The fishing should stay good thru June then it might slow down a little in July. All trips have been producing limits of fish.

Fishing is as good as it gets and we are catching limits of good solid fish, the only trouble we have is catching enough box fish because lots of the fish are over 20 inches. I have still been fishing every day , twice a day on most days. but next week I have some open spots if you want to come up for some good size fish and very fast action.

I have been fishing every morning and most afternoons and the fishing is great with limits of fish and lots of over 20" fish. Bait has been tough to catch but I have somehow managed to get enough every day. Here are a few pics.

Had a 6 boat trip this morning that was a little short on people due to the weather forecast. I did not fish but the other 5 boats came in with limits of fish. I fished a group of 8 on my boat this afternoon and caught a 80 fish limit, it was crazy for a while when the bite was really on and we also had to release a few over 20" fish since we had our limit.

Fishing was as good as it gets this morning, I fished the same group of 5 with the same results. Limited out on box and over 20" fish. Afternoon trip was a little tough with all the storms but we caught enough fish and they decided to call it early. I also had 3 other boats that fished trips for me today and caught limits of fish.

Fished a group of 5 in the AM and 2 in the PM. Limited out both trips on box and over 20" fish, also had another group of 4 out with another guide this morning that limited out.

Fished a group of 4 in the afternoon and limited out with 40 fish in the box.

Fished a group of 4 in the AM and 3 in the PM. Morning fishing was good and afternoon fishing was great. Limited out both trips but the afternoon was faster action and bigger fish. The pic of my new Lowrance is from the afternoon trip.

Fished a group of 4 in the AM and 7 in the PM. Nice boxes of fish and limits for all. Fishing will be great for the next 2 months at least. Average fish are bigger then last year.

First trip back on the lake and the fishing is really good with a limit of good box fish (many are just right under the 20" mark) and also caught a limit of over 20" fish.

Fished a group of 2 on the river today. Caught more small fish then we have been and also caught a 14 and a 22 LB striper. Pic is of the 14, I did not get a pic of the 22 because it was bleeding so I released it as soon as possible.

Fishing the river again tomorrow then we will start fishing the lake later this week. From what I have heard the lake fishing is about as good as it gets right now with fast limits of fish and good numbers of over 20" fish.

Fished the river again this morning and caught a 10,17,and 19 LB striper.

Fished the river in the afternoon and caught about 11 fish but only 3 big fish that weighed 14,15,and 16 LBS.

Fishing the river tomorrow and Sunday, then again on Tuesday for a few more big fish then we will get started on the lake late next week. May and June will be great fishing as it always is and we should get some topwater action in May. I only have a couple of days left open for prime time topwater fishing.

Fished the river today and the fishing was a little different. We had lots of big fish come up and boil on our baits but only a few of them actually took the bait. We ended up catching a 16,15,and 10 LB fish along with a few smaller ones but if we would have hooked all the fish that came up and slapped the baits this would be a much better report. We also lost a big fish that almost spooled the reel then just as we were about to start getting some line back the hook came lose.

 Still not catching many fish in the river but like I reported back in March now is the time to catch big river stripers. Here is a 21 and 25 LB fish we caught today.

Wow May is booking up fast. We are going to get much nicer boxes of fish this spring then we did last year and with the numbers of shad back to more normal (to many in the lake last year after the flood of 07) we might see some good topwater action starting late April and usually going mid to late May. Most mornings are already booked during that time but I do have a few left.

Fished one guy in the river today and it was slow for a while then we got on some fish and he caught a 10 and a 16 LB fish, we also lost a few more big fish.
